As far as the mountainous regions are concerned temperature there is mostly much lower so visitors are required to wear warm clothes to keep them warm. There are two seasons in North (From Northern Mountains to Danang) areas: winter and summer. Winter starts in November and ends in April, cool and wet, while February and March are known for drizzling rain. Summer, the season of occasional typhoons goes from May to October showing high humidity. You can enjoy two seasons in south, the wet and the dry. The wet season runs from May to November, and months from June to August are the wettest. Even heavy but short lived downpours can be seen in every afternoon. The dry season goes from December to April with February to May as the hottest, humid months. It is also the start of rainy season. The average annual temperature in Ho Chi Minh City is 27 degree centigrade, humidity is 80% and average annual rainfall is 1979 mm. The central region experiences most of the rainfall between August and December with May through August as hottest months. The rainy season also accompanies by heavy typhoons. The coolest period goes from December to January with average temperature around 22 degrees Celsius.
