The country is English letter s shaped. The area of the country is larger than Italy and slightly smaller than that of Germany. Total area of the Vietnam is 331,688 sq mile. The international boundary of the country has the length of 4,639 km. The width of the country area is 1,650 kilometres.

South side of the country is divided into costal lands with depression, mountain peaks, forests and poor soil.  The climate of Vietnam variegate from place to place. It is due to the difference of latitude and difference in topography. Terrain of the country is consisted of the hills and thick planted forest on mountain peaks. 

The length of The Red River is 1,200 kilometres.  Red river delta is spread over a region of 3,000 square kilometres. The area occupied by the Red River Delta is minor but further heavily inhibited than the Mekong River Delta. 

Climate of Vietnam is tropical. Dry winter season remains within November to April. Percentage of humidity is 84 percent. Annual rainfall is different in different regions of the country. Rainfall is substantial in some areas and torrential in others. Some areas receive 120 centimetre of precipitation and the some other areas receive 300 centimetre of precipitation.
