The places available for rent in Sweden especially in the cities consist of apartments only. Houses for rent in Sweden are difficult to find and are available in smaller towns. Stockholm is experiencing shortage of rental accommodation because of a trend of mostly people selling their houses to the tenants. The shortage has resulted in higher rental accommodation in Stockholm. The smaller centres such as the university cities of Lund and Uppsala, Helsingborg (the HQ of IKEA), Kalmar and Visby (on the island of Gotland) have holiday rental potential. As the summer season is short it does not provide opportunity for the rental market in Sweden. |

Mostly people in Sweden rent properties so property prices in Sweden are lower than other European countries.
