Jordan » Weather Jordan is blessed with a Mediterranean for a pleasurable year-round travel. Aqaba and the Jordan Valley are ideal winter resorts, with temperatures averaging 16-22°C (61-72°F) between November and April. Amman is sunny and cloudless from May to October, with average temperatures around 23°C (73°F). Springtime brings optimal weather, lush with greenery, and autumn is equally mild and pleasant. July and August are hot and dry. Because of the capital's city elevation, evenings are cool.
The Jordan Valley below sea level is warm during winter and extremely hot in summer. Rain falls between November and March, while colder weather conditions occur in December/January. The major characteristic of the climate in Jordan is the contrast between a relatively rainy season from November to April and very dry weather for the rest of the year. Light weight clothes are advised between May and September. Warmer clothes are necessary for winter and cool summer evenings. Rainwear is needed from November to April.
