Honduras » Weather

Honduras The climate of Honduras is humid but is tempered by the higher plateau of the interior. The mean annual temperature in the interior is 21°C (70°F). The low-lying coastal regions, however, are warmer, and the humidity is oppressive; the mean annual temperature averages 27°C (80°F). The dry season predominates from November to May; the average annual rainfall ranges from 150 mm in some mountain valleys to 200 mm along the northern coast.

Tegucigalpa is called tierra templada, or moderate land, with nicely warm days, and cool nights. Temperatures change somewhat from season to season, depending on the time of year.  December, January, February is the coolest months, and March and April are the hottest and driest. The rainy season begins in late-May or early-June, and brings a stimulating break to the heat that precedes it.
