Political scenario of the French focuses on the historical events came after another due to great French Revolution. French revolution took place in 1789. After that French revolution, the whole scenario of the New France politics emerged. Soon monarchy of the French Kings and Queens vanished. Instead of the total authority of the monarch, new democratic government came up in 1792. After that New France political issues arose between the two groups described in terms of left hand wing and right hand wing.   

 

In this way, main political parties are divided into left hand wings and right hand wings. The member parties of left hand wings are considered to be revolutionists. Left wings political parties like revolution not only in the political scenario of the country but also in economy as well. On the other hand, right hand wing parties tend to oppose the new revolutions and all acts of major overhauls in the social, cultural and economical systems of the country. France is democratic republic and each France politician takes part in France presidential elections for getting the seat of presidency.  President of France is called the head of the state. Prime minister of France is known as head of the government. A multi party type of government system works in the country. Government enjoys full authorities including the administrative powers. Senate and National assembly play their role in legislative work. Judiciary of France is independent and works within the circle of legislation develops by Senate and National assembly of the country.    

Today’s France is politically known as fifth Republic. It means that currently fifth republican constitution is under practice within the country. Fifth republican constitution ensures the soul power to govern lies within the hands of nation itself. French Nation gives this power temporarily to an elected government to practice in favour of the country. Free and fair France elections play key role in choosing such government body which writes faith of the nation.

 

President of the country is elected for 5 year term. There is no term limit for taking part in the presidential election. All candidates are financed for spending by the country to take part in the election. Potential candidate for the presidency of the country has to represent signed presentation of at least 500 elected members or official to get registered for Government assistance in the presidential elections. Elected president of the country enjoys enormous powers. In France two round elections take place; in this why the upcoming present of the country always get majority. 

France went through a presidential election in 2007; Mr. Nicolas Sarkozy became the president of the country. Mr. Nicolas Sarkozy is the sixth president of the Fifth republic of France. 

On March 17, 2009 the President of France Mr. Nicolas Sarkozy's won parliament vote over the issue of full rejoining of France in The North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). 238 votes out of 328 of all legislators of French parliament went in favour of the Mr. Nicolas Sarkozy’s latest stand for the new policy shift from independent country to a country which will strongly advocate and will take part in all decisions regarding the policies of the NATO in all respect.
