The late Capetions kings were very powerful and influential than the previous generations of the Capetians. Late Capetions were so powerful that they were able to dictate popes and emperors. Names of two important late Capetions kings are Philip 2 Augustus and Saint Louis. Between the time lines of 1328 to 1453, the France countrymen fought a hundred year war with the British. Many civil wars were fought in this time. Between the time of 1453 to 1789, a great France evolution took place. In this evolution period, France changed its state from feudal system to more centralized state.     

History of France witnessed extreme religious differences between the two major groups of Christianity; the Catholics and Protestants. These differences cased the first war in France due to religious extremism. After that first war, many France wars broke out in the country. But strong Capetians settled the disputes in the two major religious groups and paved the way of more modern Fence with Pairs as a capital city of the country. 

In 1789 a major French revolution took place in the country. Some pressing but critical social and economical issues were become basic cases of that great French revolution. This revolution brought the end of feudalism in the country and France became a republic country. First World War started in 1914 to 1918. France suffered great financial lose along with the death of one and a half million young Frenchmen as an aftermath of First World War. France became fourth republic in 1944. During that time, France went through verse economic conditions. France became fifth republic in 1958. After that France saw a thirty year economic boom. Longer Historical Perspective

The Fascinating France history can be traced to the prehistoric period dated back to approximately 200,000 BC. Early region of human population found on the area of the present day Italy, France, Belgium and Switzerland was called Gaul. The inhabitants of Gaul area was considered to early France people of that region. Greek came first and settled here. At last Roman come here and conquered various areas of these regions. Romans have the credit of the discovery of France in 393 BC.  

People of Rome distributed the Gaul area into various provinces to stop local people to unit and became a threat to Roman Empire.  There was great cultural evolution took place in that region. This cultural evolution gave birth to classical forms of France culture and more glorious traditions of France. Later on the old culture of Gaul was replaced by newly evolved Gallo Roman culture. With the passage of time, the Gaul got well integrated with the Roman Empire. Many popular generals of the Roman army were born in Gaul. In this way areas of Gaul got famous in Roman Empire.

In fourth century, migration of Celts took place. Celts were British speaking people. Therefore Celts & Greek are considered the first nation of France. In 418 Goth also came here and started barbarian raids in the Gaul region. Generals of Roman Empire used local tribes of the Gaul area to stop serious raids from Goths.  

With slow but sturdy rabbles of Gaul people made the Roman Empire on the verge of destruction. This area of France saw many flourishing kingdoms including Frankish kingdoms. In middle ages, France is known to be much decentralised state. King of the country was known to be respectable due to his religiousness. King had no administrative authority. 

Soon many princely states were produced in the country. The prince of these princely states had very high level of administrative authorities. With the passage of time these clever and powerful princes removed the religiously famous kings of the area know as France today. These prices were called Capetians kings.  Some important early capetians are Hugh capet, Robert the Pious, Henry 1, Robert 1 of Burgundy, Louis 6 and King Louis 7.
