Brazil » Weather Brazil is a vast country that covers most of the continent of South America. Brazil has tropical climate with few months of heavy rain falls in the year, brief rain showers are however quite common. It remains generally warm in the Amazon. As expected the Amazon Basin is the wettest area because it rains throughout the year. It remains damp and moist with average temperature around 27 C. The coastal climate of Brazil is pleasant but it can get extremely hot at times, while plateau cities have mild climates. Brazil’s hottest and driest part is the northeast with irregular rainfalls.
In Brazil winter season lasts from June to August. Temperature in winters remains between 13 and 18C. South of Rio experiences real cold. Summers in Brazil last from December to February with temperatures ranging from 25 to 40°C. The summers bring along humidity at times in the far south, but it can get cold with occasional snowfall in the winter season. In the extreme southern state of Rio Grande do Sul, it may even snow during an extreme cold in winters. From April to October the weather in Brazil remains warm and humid. There is very little rainfall during these months and the afternoons are usually pleasant. The rainy season starts in November and lasts till March. It is hot and humid during this period. The months from April to September have a dry and hot temperature with average temperature around 33C. In the wet season that lasts from October to March it remains hot with the average temperature reaching 33C. The areas that receive most rainfall in Brazil are around the mouth of the Amazon River and in the upper regions of the Amazon Forest. In these areas the rainfall recorded every year is 117 inches (3,000 millimeters). The average rainfall in Brazil is 1110000000 inches.
