Watford For entertainment, The Parade near the town centre draws people to its restaurants, pubs, nightclubs and also a Jongleurs Comedy Club. There are a number of theatres including The Palace Theatre and The Coliseum which put on a variety of productions, shows and entertainment. A few miles north of the town centre, is a Woodside Leisure Park which includes a multi-screen cinema, ten-pin bowling centre and restaurants.

Watford Entertainment

The history of the town can be discovered at Watford Museum in the former head office of local brewery, Benskin's. For recreation, Cassiobury Park in the West of Watford provides enjoyable walks and also has a golf course. The Earl of Essex once had a large house in the park.

Vicarage Road in Watford is home to the largest sports stadium in Hertfordshire. Watford Football Club is based here, along with Saracens Rugby Club.

Entertainment in Watford

For golf lovers, the town offers Watford City Golf Course. Built in 1964, the 9-hole course is 3,000 yards and plays to a par of 36. The course is open from April 1st through September 30th.

Leisure wise, the town offers further facilities such as The Palace Theatre, the Colosseum, Jongleurs Comedy Club, Watford FC and Destiny night-club, in turn appealing to all types of cultural, leisure and entertainment tastes.

Night Life

Watford's two major nightclubs - Area and Destiny - are both on The Parade. Old school (70s, 80s and 90s), R&B and garage music dominate the week nights, with Saturday nights attracting big name DJs. Destiny attracts the younger crowd, Area a classier crew. Next door to Area is Baraka, an up market bar characterized by a Moroccan interior with DJ sessions at weekends.

Clubs are open until 3am Monday to Saturday. Pubs are subject to normal licensing hours and a cluster of big chain pubs can be found along The Parade. The most popular drinks are lager and spirits.
