Istiklal Avenue (Istiklal Caddesi in Turkish), is one of the most famous avenues in Istanbul, Turkey. Approximately visited by 3 million people in one day in the weekends. Located in the Beyoglu neighborhood, it is a pedestrian street, approximately three km long, that houses tens of exquisite boutiques, music and bookstores, art galleries, cinemas, theaters, cafés, bars, libraries, pubs, historical patisseries, chocolateries, technological centers, and restaurants. This avenue, surrounded by nineteenth century Turkish architecture, starts from the historic neighbourhood around the Galata Tower and leads up to Taksim Square.
