Geneva has a huge number of restaurants for a city its size, and the international community means there's more variety than you'll find in most Swiss cities. On the downside, Geneva is possibly the most expensive city in an expensive country. Local specialties include fondue, raclette, lake fish dishes, smoked sausage and a variety of casseroles. As an international city, Geneva also offers visitors the chance to sample food from around the world.

The Paquis is the Geneva’s most international district and is home to some of Geneva’s best restaurants. Authentic Arabic, Thai, African and South American cafes are prevalent and low priced.

Geneva has dozens of top-drawer expensive restaurants, where you can find cuisine to match the best in the world. Dining within the top hotels is nearly always wonderful Le Cygne in the Noga Hilton, Le Chat Botté in the Beau Rivage and Les Continents in the Intercontinental stand out, with the first two offering spectacular views and terrace seating in addition to top-quality food.
