With big names and brands popular all over Swedish design is much sought after. From a country that gave the world mega stores like H&M and IKEA and brands like Ann-Sofie Back, Acne, Cheap Monday, Pour, expectations are high in terms of quality and  Stockholm shops although smaller live up to the standards.  Stockholm famous for its popular fashion has a huge influence over the international fashion market. It is a place where you’ll find jewelry, handicrafts, interior design and international labels. Handicraft artistry has been a part of Swedish design heritage. Souvenirs can be bought from Stockholm’s Old Town. There is a large variety of Stockholm stores and number of local designers offering both contemporary and traditional designs.

Shopping in Stockholm is not as expensive as its thought to be the case. Compared to other European capitals the prices in Stockholm are reasonable enough. Most of the shops in Stockholm remain open all week.

City center and Ostermalm district are the places to visit if you want to go for exclusive fashion shopping as it has Swedish and international brand stores, and a large number of the finest interior design outlets, such as Asplund and Nordiska Galleriet. The city centre also has large department stores such as Nordiska Kompaniet and PUB, shopping arcades like Gallerian and Sturegallerian, as well as numerous large chain stores.
 
The Ostermalm district also offers luxury boutiques, exclusive antiques precinct, with fine art, crafts and classic design from several centuries. For a trendier, bohemian style you can go shop in the Sodermalm district. Here you can experience a new type of shopping with fashion, cafes and galleries all together in one place. In the Old Town, "Gamla Stan" you can find small shops with reasonable prices but for this you would have to do some good search as they are located right next to the pricey ones. Drottninggatan is quite popular with tourists and here also you can find smaller shops with right prices. In this street all along are shops offering everything from accessories, clothes, souvenirs to luggage and furniture.
