Sweden » Dining in Stockholm

StockholmWhen going out for dining in Stockholm there is plenty of choice in terms of quality, variety and prices. All dining options from fast food to haute cuisine are available to tempt every taste bud. Stockholm cuisine has earned quite a name in recent years and developed a multi- cultural restaurant life. The reason behind this is the extensive traveling that Swedes do. Inspired by culinary art of different places they tend to bring all the flavours from the world, blend them or reinvent them to create tasty dishes of their own. There are several restaurants in Stockholm offering great Scandinavian, international and Swedish cuisine.

Stockholm Dining

Café culture is quite popular in Stockholm as you can find cafes and coffee bars everywhere you go. Afternoon tea in Stockholm has become a trend especially in the winters. Wine in Stockholm is expensive as it is imported. Stockholm’s popular restaurants are mostly run by young chefs who are not afraid to experiment. Dining out is quite popular in Stockholm so it is always better to book a table in advance especially if the restaurant is a popular one.

Stockholm City Dining

Sweden has a ‘lunch culture’, people during lunch breaks normally go to a restaurant or a café to grab something to eat. Prices for lunch are comparatively cheaper than evening meals. Normally you can get a good lunch meal for around € 7-9; bread, salad and coffee included. Lunch is served during 11 to 1 and dinner timings are from 5-8 but mostly people in Stockholm have dinner around 7-8.
