Singapore » Getting to Singapore

SingaporeApproximate flight time from London to Singapore is 13 hours.

By Air

Singapore Changi Airport is a regional aviation hub served by 64 international airlines and is being expanded with the construction of a third terminal slated for completion in 2008. A fourth terminal, designed to cater to budget airlines only, was opened in April 2006, and was named Budget Terminal.

Getting to Singapore City

By Cable Car

The Singapore Cable Car is a special form of land transport which uses a gondola system to allow a route over the water at an elevated altitude between Mount Faber on the main island of Singapore and the resort island of Sentosa

By Taxi

Taxis may be flagged down at any time of the day along any public road. Issues of high traffic and demand in certain locations and areas, particularly in the downtown area and other major buildings and establishments around the island, require the building of taxi stands. As taxis may conversely be relatively rare in more secluded areas, as well as to meet the needs of time-sensitive users, taxis may be booked via telephone or through the internet for a fee, which is then transmitted to individual taxis via a Global Positioning System or digital voice despatch.

By Bus

Bus transport in Singapore is the most comprehensive and affordable means of public transport for the masses, with over two million rides taken per day on average on the buses of the two main public transport providers SBS Transit and SMRT Corporation. There are more than 300 bus services covering all parts of Singapore.
