In Doha, shopping is not a chore, it is a pastime and many entertaining evenings can be spent visiting the city's malls. Doha has several large modern malls, with cinemas, restaurants and other facilities as well as brand shops. The souqs are the most enjoyable to shop at. Souq Waqif is the old covered market that originally started out as a weekend market for Bedouins to come into town and trade their wool and meat for staple goods. It had become quite modernized and there is now a major overhaul underway.

The Hyatt Plaza is actually a decent place to shop. This is one of the five malls in Doha. Within the mall are fine jewelry stores, food court and the typical mall fare. A gigantic shopping cart stands proudly in front of the Hyatt Plaza shopping mall. 

City Center Mall is the largest retail centre in the Middle East and boasts over 350 shops, including many of the world's leading brands and designers. Other leading malls in the city include, Landmark Shopping Mall, Centre Point, The Mall, Carrefour Mall, Villagio and Royal Plaza all are housing international and regional brands.

Afghani Bazaar again another mall, famous for some amazing pottery items, daggers, jewelry, brass coffee pots,etc. These shopping centers cater to the fun quotient required by tourists. Shopping in Doha will be an unforgettable experience.
