By AirSeeb International Airport is main airport of Muscat through which visitors can easily get into the city. The airport is located in Seeb which takes almost 25 minutes drive from heart of Muscat City. Oman and Gulf have daily flights from Chennai and Bahrain, while Emirates connects Muscat with Dubai and Etihad connects Muscat with Abu Dhabi. By TaxiMaxi taxis ply the highway from Seeb to the cornice area. From Corniche area to the church the charge is 100 baisa and another 100 baisa from church round about to Wadi Adai. You can get a baisa bus down the main highway on arrival at airport, situated approximately 40 km from the main Muscat. The orange and white taxis are usually a bit costly and they hang around the hotels where they get benefit by taking more fares from innocent travelers, who usually don’t have any idea of taxi fares of this area. These taxi drivers usually charge 8 Rials for an airport trip if a traveller does not bargain. By BusTransport system of Muscat is run by the Oman National Transport Company including daily bus services from Dubai and several Oman cities to Muscat. By RoadOman International Transport Company operates bus service to and from Muscat connected with Dubai and several Oman cities. You can reach Muscat from Dubai by road and the journey takes 4 to 5 hours by crossing the border in Hatta. |
