Lithuania » Getting to Vilnius
By AirAs Lithuania is a member of the European Union, citizens from these countries do not need a visa and can enter Lithuania with a valid passport or a valid identity card. Most airlines arrive at main Vilnius international airport and smaller seaside Palanga airport, while no-frills carriers (Ryanair and Wizzair) land in Kaunas airport. For destinations north Lithuania Riga airport is an attractive option. Vilnius airport is just 5 km from the centre of the city, so getting to town is quick and inexpensive. UK citizens do not need a visa for Lithuania. By TrainThere are train connections to Vilnius from Warsaw, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Minsk, Riga and Kaliningrad. The closest of the three historic Baltic capitals, Vilnius can be reached from London via Berlin and Warsaw. By RoadMajor "via Baltica" road links Kaunas to Warsaw and Riga/Tallinn. By SeaThere are several passenger/car ferries from Klaipeda to Sweden, Germany, Poland. |
