Jordan » Entertainment in Amman Jordan offers many options for your fun.
Amman is the capital of Jordan, most of the time regarded as the “white city”. The main attraction in Amman is the presence of the Roman amphitheater from the second century Ad located in the city’s center. The Archaeological Museum found at Jebel el Qalat and the National Gallery of Fine Arts are some of the tourist attractions that are present in this capital city of Jordan. There are many structures in this city that are also major sites of interests including the Royal Tombs, Monastery, the High Place of Sacrifice, and the Roman Theatre. The most renowned part of Petra is Al Khazneh famously known as the Treasury, which has been chosen as one of the “New Seven Wonders of the World.” In every part of Amman, Jordan's bustling capital, white stone buildings edged the streets through which we drove. I don't think there's a city any place else on earth where all the houses are built from white cut stone." Traces of these bygone ages remain in the Citadel, located on a hill high above the town- centre. The theatre is the home of two museums: the Jordan Folkloric Museum, exhibiting the traditional life of Jordan, and the Jordan Museum of Popular Traditions, housing traditional Jordanian costumes.
Still rapidly growing, the city contains 24 four and five star hotels while others are under construction. Jordan's great number of attractions will, no doubt, in the future, lure many more visitors. For entertainment, Amman offers a variety of things to see and do. The city has a wide spectrum of discos, nightclubs and innumerable restaurants offering the cuisines of the world. From Arabic food, in its many varieties, to international specialities and fast food, Amman offers them all in fine restaurants. The whole city is a sophisticated gourmet world with a dizzying array of savoury dishes. The estate has been transformed into a handicraft and restaurant complex - for visitors an enchanted oasis where the centuries-old Arab hospitality lives on. Amid the atmosphere of Arabic music and dancing, we dined on an excellent Arab meal. Located 1286 ft below sea level, The Dead Sea is considered to be the lowest point on earth. The Dead Sea shimmers by day and night in a strange and dried out land. This creepy atmosphere is one of the reasons why travelers never missed out seeing the place. Situated in the south of Jordan, aside from the things to see, Wadi Rum is a place where travelers can splurge themselves on sports activities like rock-climbing. For travelers who are keen on seeing religion related places, Madaba is the home of some religious sites like the Jordan River, where John the Baptist baptized Jesus Christ and Mount Nebo. There are still many places of interests that are worth visiting in Jordan. Indeed, Jordan is worth a visit when considering a travel to a Middle East country. |
