Rome is also known as the Eternal city. Rome’s history dates back to almost 3,000 years. It lies between the Apennine Mountains and the Tyrrhenian Sea. It is no wonder that Rome is a popular tourist destination visited by over ten million tourists every year. The best time to visit Rome is during the summers. There are so many sights, works of art and museums in Rome that the visitors have to pick and choose which ones they most want to see in the limited time frame. The charming city of Rome has some of the best restaurants, cafes, and shopping arcade to make your visit a memorable one.
Rome is relatively expensive than other Italian
cities. It has an exuberant street life with shops lining the streets,
fruit and vegetable stands everywhere. Romans are known to be cheerful
and incredibly hospitable. Lifestyle of Romans is active and they are
known to be warm people proud of their city heritage. The streets of
Rome always seem to be bustling with activity and filled with laughter.

Although Rome has glimpses of past present in its

vibrant city yet there are serene parks and gardens for those who seek
the comforts of a more quiet and calm life. Among such gardens the
Villa Doria Pamphili is the largest landscaped park in Rome. Other
famous garden of Rome are Villa Borghese houses a gorgeous garden
alongside the famous Borghese Gallery.
The Roman Colosseum has become a symbol of the
Roman Empire and of Rome itself. It was the largest amphitheatre ever
built by the Roman Empire and was capable of seating 50,000 people. Its
original use was as a venue for staging combats between gladiators,
which was a popular spectator sport of the time.
