Honduras » Shopping in Tegucigalpa
Tegucigalpa has many things to offer like, shopping, great markets where you can find almost everything, great resturants, and much more. You can have good-quality of cigars in Tegucigalpa and a number of companies in Tegucigalpa sell high-quality leather goods at around half European prices. For everyday goods, the general markets in every town usually provide a confusing range of clothing, food and household goods. More expensive boutiques and supermarkets are limited to Tegucigalpa. The Mall-MultiplazaThe Mall-Multiplaza is a two-story, top-of-the-line mall, just like you would find in any of the biggest cities in America. Overpriced and somewhat opulent, but a nice place to feel like you are back in civilization if you have just come back from anywhere else in Honduras. San Isidrio MarketSan Isidrio Market down by the river. You can walk around the 16-square blocks of true Honduran markets and see where the Hondurans who can't afford to shop at the mall go to buy their things. Women travelers will be more comfortable with a male companion. The market gets "earthier" the nearer to the river you get. If a local warns you that you are heading into an unsafe area of the market, thank them and backtrack.
