Night LifeTegucigalpa has some great clubs that truly surround and include the Latin culture. Two favorites are Casa Mexicana and Casa Vieja and many more. Casa Mexicana is not a very large club, but it has a cherished feel. They had a live singer/guitarist that played some superb Latin music. Casa Vieja is a huge club that is bit more modern. The atmosphere was like that of Casa Mexicana but on a much larger scale. The live band plays mostly American music from the 80s. Casino Royale is the only full status casino in Tegucigalpa is the Casino Royale, located at the stylish Honduras Maya Hotel. Here you can try playing a diversity of games including blackjack, roulette, baccarat, and more. Access to the casino is limited to foreigners, so make sure that you carry some sort of ID to prove that you are not Honduran. Bar Napoc elite bar located at the Hotel Marriott in Tegucigalpa has fast become one of the most famous get together spots in town. A large screen allows viewing of the important sport events around the world. Open daily at least till midnight. MuseumsVilla Roy National Museum, located in Barrio Buenos Aires in Tegucigalpa. It is open from 8:30 to 3:30, Wednesdays through Sundays and features displays on ethnography (the study of different cultures and sub-populations), Pre-Hispanic history (person of Latin American background), natural sciences, and archeology of Honduras, as well as the colonial period. Entrance is about one dollar. The National Museum of the Republic, located at the former Presidential Palace in downtown Tegucigalpa, features portraits, paraphernalia, and other interesting items from past presidents. It is open from 8:30 to 4:30, Mondays through Saturdays. There is an entrance of about one dollar. Entrance is free every fourth Thursday of the month. Sports and ActivitiesHiking is terrific in this region and jungle-esque exploration is an enjoyment for those who love to hike in what feels to be never-before chartered territories. Various levels of hiking are possible here as well as tour-guided trips. Golf is also available and a growing industry in and around Tegucigalpa. FolkloreHonduras is a country full of folklore, its well-known Lluvia de Peces (Fish Rain) being a good example. The myth of El Cadejo and La Ciguanaba (La Sucia) are also popular. Giovanni "Giovanello Von Bismarck" Bardales has played an essential role in the spread and expansion of folkloric dances in Honduras.
